Most
all specials are valid on NEW BOOKINGS
ONLY. We understand that it
is frustrating at times when specials
are offered for new bookings only when
you may already have a reservation.
Hotels and resorts offer specials like
the ones below when their occupancy is low.
If you have a lot of flexibility and are
willing to pay higher last minute air
prices, it makes sense to wait and book
at the last minute to take advantage of
any specials. On the other hand,
if you have specific dates that you can
travel, we recommend you do not
wait because the space may very well be
gone if you waited for a special.
Also, you will likely get a better airfare
if you book early. A good example
of this is when you are shopping for that
special shirt or blouse. You find
it in your size and color, but it is not
on sale. Do you buy it now or wait
for it to go on sale? The risk,
of course, is that it may not be available
in your size when it is on sale.
So is it better to pay a little more to
get exactly what you want or pay a little
less and take the risk it may not fit
or the resort may not be available.

is almost here and we are looking forward
to helping you plan your next trip!
It's
not too early to begin thinking about
your 2010 travel plans. Some properties
have given us their rates for next
year, but many have not. Oftentimes,
we can book your 2010 trip at the 2009
prices as long as they haven't released
their 2010 rates yet.
We
are often asked about how safe a destination
is in terms of crime, illnesses or other
problems. It is interesting to
see how some people are willing to accept
risk at home, but cancel a trip
becasue of some concern about saftey
abroad. We like to encourage people
to put these matters in to perspective.
We have had people decide not to go
to Bonaire becasue there is occassional
theft from vehicles, yet they may very
well live in a large city where petty
theft is even higher. The recent
flu outbreak also struck us. Each
year, more than 30,000 people die from
the regular seasonal flu, yet there
was significant concern and cancellations
to destinations like Cozumel over the
recent new flu outbreak. We are
not suggesting that people should disregard
saftey, advice from the State Department
or CDC. People should also only
travel on vacation when they are comfortable.
What we are suggesting, though, is that
people put these matters into perspective.
